I noticed there are some old threads (2011 and prior) mentioning 27" display problems. I have reset PRAM, the SMC, safe mode, and used Diagnostics and Disk Utility and have not been able to diagnose the problem. After I noticed the problems I updated my system to High Sierra and the problems did not go away.
